This question is mainly for Sophia as she mentioned she had a add-on flash with her Canon D60 :)
I was wondering how often do you use it and if it was worth the cost? Do you use it when it's sunny to make the contrast with shadow lower?

No Olly, i don't use flash at the sunny days but i use it at cloudy or rainy days.To me the flash worths it's money even if i don't use it outside, one year ago a friend of mine asked me to photograph her marriage and with the flash the photos were great.
I use the flash with the D-SLR in the same way as with every SLR

Yes, I can imagine for a wedding a flash is great and needed. It's not the kind of things you ask people to come back the day after because the photos were bad ;)
I have been thinking about getting a flash but they cost a lot (for a good one) and my priority is a 70-300mm lens OR a macro lens for the moment. Saving money for a lens :)

There is a good macro lens from Tamron, the SP AF 90mm F/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 which costs about 475 euro in France. I am sure it is possible to find cheaper in Germany at some online stores.

I have heard about this lens and i think it's a great lens especially with a nikon camera, but,if i buy a macro lens i have to buy and a flash and i believe that a special flash designed for macro lens would be very expensive, but Canon have a very little macro ring with an off camera TTL flash designed for use with the canon macro lenses ,it fits around the end of the lens barrel using a built-in attachment ring and twin flash tubes are mounted in the ring.
I wonder if this compane, canon macro lens+macro ring would cost cheaper than Tamron+flash designed for use with the macro lens.....i have to ask for prices, did you ever ask for prices of macro flash?

Sophia, I think this lens from Tamron works well with any brands, including Canon (I almost got a D30 in the past so I was looking at everything Canon related). The Di version is new but it is based on a old (but great!) lens.
For prices, I usually go to
http://www.rueducommerce.fr/Photo-Video-Numerique/36-Objectifs/
It is in French but you can still navigate easily and recognize the word Canon :p
For flashes: http://www.rueducommerce.fr/Photo-Video-Numerique/28-Flashes/
1170 euro for the Canon MT-24 EX macro flash... Expensive!!

Another good site and they have good price. I haven't bought there but I know several French customers who were happy. They speak German, French and English when you call them.
http://www.technikdirekt.de
As they are based in Europe, for us there is no duty tax and the VAT is lower there than in France. I have no idea what is the % of VAT in Greece.

Go here: http://www.rueducommerce.fr/Photo-Video-Numerique/28-Flashes/m1249-CANON.htm
At the bottom, you will see the MT-24 EX
If you click on the photo, you will arrive to the full page. I can't post the direct link as it doesn't work here (too long).
The link to its photo is http://www.rueducommerce.fr/numerique/images/produits/info/large/CANON-MT24EX.jpg
Personally I wouldn't pay 400 euro for just a macro flash but if I win lottery I get all Nikon lenses and flashes :D
