All photos were taken with the Sigma 18-200 lens. I am very happy with this lens: good quality, not much distorsion for a 11x zoom, fast autofocus, fantastic range from wide angle to telezoom and it is very compact and light :D

Amazing clear photos!I have never taken photos in 800 ISO because of the noise, you must be very happy with your new camera!!
Have you taken any photo in 800 ISO with your nikon?

The photos were uploaded in real size so you could see the low noise at 1600 and also see how the lens is doing :)
I am very happy with the camera and also the lens. I even consider getting the same for the Nikon. Then I can do a comparaison between the two cameras ;)

Yes, I took photos at 800 ISO with the D70. They are not bad if you see in 1024x768 but in full size it is easy to tell the 350D is much better. I will find a photo taken at 800 with the Nikon so you can see, or tomorrow if the weather is not bad, I can take photos of the same thing at 800 ISO with the two cameras.

I would like to see that.

I took a photo of a sign on a gate at the park. The two photos are taken at 800ISO, one with the 350D and one with the 70D. The one with the D70 was taken in raw and then converted into jpg as there is a significant difference in quality with the Nikon between the jpg and raw.

You need to click "original" size to see the noise
The Nikon is not too bad as it is not an annoying noise at 800 but the 350D and its newer sensor is perfect. At 1600ISO, there is no comparaison.

At large size both photos are very well, but looking at original size, the photo which taken with the Canon is better than the photo with the Nikon, but you had used different lenses and i have noticed that using a better quality lens on my camera, the noise isn't distinctive, but with another lens the noise is visible at the same ISO
Have you tested the noise with the same lens?

No, I have not tested with the same lens because it means I would need to buy another 70-200 Sigma made for Canon or a Sigma 18-200 made for Nikon and I am more looking for a wide angle for now. By the way, you have the lens description just below the photos ;)
With the Nikon D70 (which is the only camera I have with different lenses) I see no difference in ISO when I change the lens: over 800, it starts to get noisy.

Seems that i have seen difference of noise between the previous and current lenses, because the previous (28-80 and 75-300)were low quality lenses
