Here are the image softwares I use, and I can help you if you use them too :)
PhotoImpact 10 from Ulead http://www.ulead.com/pi/runme.htm
ThumbsPlus 7 from Cerious http://www.cerious.com
BreezeBrowser v2.11 from Breezesys http://www.breezesys.com
IMATCH from Photools http://www.photools.com
ThumbsPlus is great for viewing quickly photos. I am experiencing some crashes with it when rotating a photo since yesterday.
BreezeBrowser: I have a "lifetime" license but there is a "new" product next called BreezeBrowser Pro which is extremely similar... Of course you have to pay to get the Pro version so I wonder what's a lifetime license. Anyway, for Canon users it's a great tool for manipulating raw files and it can create photo gallery.
IMATCH (also a lifetime license but at least the product didn't change its name) is a very solid program for cataloguing your photos. I will write more about it later.
PhotoImpact 10 is easy to use for enhancing your photos. Very good price for all the package you get. I started to use it since its version 3 :)
I also use Nikon Capture for playing with Nikon raw files. I am not used to it yet but it looks powerful.

I've been try to decide what image software to buy. Currently I have Microsoft Picture It, which I pretty much use for all my editing. I am considering Photo Impact or Photoshop Elements. I think I would like to get Photo Impact, but the only version that I can get in the stores is 8.5 and then I would have to download the upgrade to 10. I really don't want to do that. Is the upgrade important?

What software do the rest of you use.

Photoshop Elements is a limited version of Photoshop. From what I hear, it is quite limited, though I don't have the full Phtoshop so I don't know what features I am missing!

thank you Lisa :)

There is a new Photoshop Elements 3 and apparently it is nice for 99% of photographers. I have the demo CD but haven't tried it yet. I believe it can be downloaded from adobe.com
It includes the photo catalogue things useful for retrieving your photos!

I don't need to write about it as there is a new review at http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/software/Imatch.shtml :)

I use Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10. I like it alot better than Photoshop. I do most of my editing/color corrections with it . . . I also use Mystical Ligting & Mystical Tint, Tone & Color - these 2 programs are from AutoFX.com . . . I'd highly recommend them to anyone shooting professionally - they really add a great deal to the ordinary photograph.
