I set out to buy the powershot pro 1 but I read so many bad things about it this morning on the net and DH said I should get a slr that I could get better lenses for later etc. So I ended up buying the Canon EOS Rebel XT, there is a lot to read but so far I have been just trying it and it seems really good. I also bought a filter and a carrying case and a meg of memory. I will upload a picture I took. So far just trying it out.

I used the lens that came with the camera, 18-55 mm, the picture wasn't really good but it was my first one. It takes really nice pictures. Looking now to buy a good macro lens, I know you just bought one, do you like it?

Yes,i'm very happy with the macro lens that i bought,it's very sharp and great for portraits too. :)
Your photo of the spider is very well,maybe you needed a better DOF(Depth of Field)but it's nice.
You have to judge your photo according the lens you have,better lens=better photo ;)

Congratulations! We share the same camera :) and it is a great one. It makes photos so much easier to take.

Thanks for the info. Right now I'm just keeping the same lense on because its really the only one I have.
