So Ive decided that im going to buy a new camera. I probably wont be able to afford it until October because by then Ill be finished paying of my first term of college. Im looking for a camera with a nice zoom. Id like to try macrophotography I love taking pictures of wildlife/bugs/nature. Im looking for something in the $400-800 price range (Canadian dollars). Right now im liking the Kodak Z740 5.0MP, it has a 10X optical zoom- which I like, but it doest have an image stabilizer which iwould need for wildlife photos.

If you want a camera with image stabilizer you have to look for a Canon.I'm not sure but i believe that there isn't any other brand with image stabilizer
My Panasonic has an image stabilizer. It is 5.MP with 12X zoom I'm not sure that it's great in the Macro department, but some turn out pretty good like the Bumble Bee photo.

Thanks for the info Jan,i didn't know that :)
I am not giving you any recommandation as there will be new cameras between now and October. You will certainly get something better and less expensive than the current cameras :)
Sophia: beside Canon, you have cameras with image stabiliser from Panasonic, Nikon and Minolta (like the bridge camera A2). And for lenses, you have image stabiliser with some Canon, Nikon and Sigma lenses. Not sure about the other brands (but not needed with the Minolta D7 as it has an inbuilt image stabiliser in its body).

Thanks for the informations :) I would never read the reviews of new cameras and lenses on internet or magazines if i would not plan to buy one
I remember that i had read somewhere that the Canon producted the first camera with the image stabiliser and thought that they stand alone
