Hi All , I am looking for a tele for my D350. Should I have to get a abrangent tele, like the Sigma 18-200 ? or better to have a half tele and a wide lens? My problem is , Due to the risk , I will prefer to have just one lens todovereithing instedead to be obliged to change the lens , everyday.

If you get a Sigma 18-200 like I do with the D350, you will end using it all the time as it covers 90% of your need. Then if you get another lens, it has to be a specialised lens like a macro lens, a ultra wide angle or a fast zoom (like a 70-200 f2.8 etc).

On the Nikon D70 I have a Nikon 18-70 and a Sigma 70-200 f2.8. I do not use very often the fast Sigma because it is heavy 1.3 kg, but it does take excellent photos. I use a lot more the 18-70 because it is more useful, and I often regret it can't zoom more like with the Sigma 18-200...
So now when I don't know what I am going to take in photos, I take the Canon with the 18-200. It is a very versatile lens.

I try to avoid changing lenses with digital slr because of the dust problem. It is really a pain to clean the sensor.

That said, I love wide angle lenses :D

Yes, Olly has me really wanting to purchase the 18-200mm Sigma Lens.

I believe we have the same camera, Anibal (I have the Canon SLR with 18-55mm Lens). I too, would like a better all-purpose lens. :)

The original kit lens for the D350/Digital Rebel XT isn't bad from f/5.6 and over. Its distorsion is a little too strong at wide angle but for example a much more expensive Canon EF-S 17-85 f/4-5.6 IS USM has even more distorsion at wide angle. For its price (with the kit), the EF-S 18-55 is a very decent lens.
