It was a wonderful birthday until.... my husband told me he couldn't load up the pictures from my niece's baptism. :eek: Apparently, the card malfunctioned and he reformatted it and that means no more baptism pictures. I can't even think of how I'm going to tell my sister. I had some really special ones and I just wish my husband hadn't panicked so we could have taken the disk to a professional to see if they could salvage the pictures. :( Douma 11-07-2005, 09:15 PM What a pity Lisa!Was there another photographer? Olly 11-07-2005, 09:25 PM I am confident the card can still be read with some special software when formatted with a Canon. I know the Nikon D70 really formates fully while many Canon don't. Olly, do you think they can still be retrieved even though he reformatted it? I really wish he hadn't done that but by the time I found out he had already done so. I asked why he didn't just change the card so we could figure it out together (or hand it over to a professional) and I'm certain he's asking himself the same question so I didn't push the issue. I think the 20D does not really format. It just deletes the index of the memory card but the photos should be there, unless you overwrite them by taking other photos.
