How frequently do you do a scan disk and defrag and what other things would you suggest to make pc runs faster?
When i take the pc back from the service it would run fast and as the months go by,it would became more and more slower

Sophia, do you ever delete your cookies and temporary internet files? This can make a world of difference in terms of speed. I try to do it every time I shut down my pc each day.

Other than that, I run spy ware.

I forgot to write that.Yes i delete the cookies and temporary files about once a month and i would run the spy ware almost every day to delete the bugs,i see the difference in the speed, but it isn't as fast as it was the first days after formation

My bf does that kind of thing for me which is good :) He made the computer for me so whenever it needs fixing its fast and free :D

Ill usually go through and delete any programmes I dont need. That frees up a lot of space. Thanks for the reminder about the cookies. Although doesnt that take away your saved passwords etc?

I do a defrag, run Ad Aware and Spybot (two freewares) daily :)
It is maybe a little bit extreme :D

Good idea,i will run defrag daily and hope i would keep my pc in better condition.I just run ad-aware and it showed 13 files identified

Yes it does, and this is why i won't do it frequently

Running adaware doesn't delete the good cookies, I believe.

That's right,i delete bugs using the adaware.
I delete cookies going >internet>properties>delete cookies and when i do this,i have to log in on every board again. Is there any other way to keep the password and user name, deleting the cookies?

You can have your browser keeping your username and password :)
With Internet Explorer: go to "Tools", "Internet Options", "Content" and at the bottom under "Personal Information" go to "Auto Complete".
