So whats everyone doing for christmas this year? Does it snow where you are? Do you go away or stay at home?

We have gone away for the last 4 years, so this year isn't changing. My parents have almost finished building a house down in the Hawkes Bay so we are going there. Our relatives are going too so it should be fun, there are quite a few :) They have a really good view so im hoping to take some nice photos of it to share with you all! :) The house is just up the road from www.craggyrange.com (they have THE nicest restaurant) and you can see Te Mata Peak from the house :) Its the sunniest/hottest place in New Zealand in the summer so we are in for some really nice weather. No white christmases for us!

We are going to stay home, because my parents will come in Athens from the village where they live.
Unfortunately my daughters won't be here with us on Christmas and New year's day,it's hard for me,as it will be the first time that we will be alone these days
Can't wait to see your photos, the place looks wonderful :)

Yes Laura the place looks wonderful in deed. Well we are staying here for Christmas in Canada where I'm sure there will be snow. I love whenit snows Christmas eve and Christmas day, its so pretty. This year it will be just my immediate family, hubby, my son Scott and his girlfriend and my son Bruce and his girlfriend for a big turkey dinner with all the trimmings.Just a quiet Christmas. I may try to organize a sleigh ride during the holidays that would be fun. Sophia I feel for you not having your daughter home for the holidays it is a family time but at least you will have your parents, thats nice. Will look forward to seeing your picturs Laura.

That place looks really beautiful Laura!!!....that will make for some great pictures!! :D I'm sorry your daughters won't be there this year Sophia :(

All my family is up in Minnesota....so I won't see any of them, even though I have lived in florida for over 20 yrs I still miss having a REAL winter christmas!! I have my husbands family here and I thank god for them....they are such a blessing :) My mom passed away six years ago, and I still have a hard time for the holidays....maybe when we have kids it will make them better :) So I will have a small christmas with my husbands family, I look forward to that :D

It's hard for me,but at least,i know that my daughters will be together in Spain and they will have fun

What do you usually eat?

We have not a tradition food this day, just a stuffed turkey,cheese-cake ect usually various food dished at the table, but not something special, but we have many tradition sweets, they are very delicious and that is the time of the year that i always gain weight  we have melomakarona and kourampiedes and a special cake for the New year's day that we named Vasilopita (Greek new year cake)This cake is dedicated to St Basil.
A coin is added to the mixture, and whoever gets it will have good luck for the year :)
