I ordered yesterday that prime lens. Hopefully it will be good :D
I can't wait to use it indoor at museums etc
I also ordered the sigma x1.4 converter DG so I can get a 420mm from the sigma 70-200 f2.8. I should get both of them tomorrow.

Congratulations!:D The Canon 50mm 1.8 II is a very good lightweight prime lens for low light photography.

Got them this afternoon. It is too dark to try, I can't wait tomorrow :D
The Canon looks funny with that tiny lens and the Nikon with the Sigma 70-200 + converter looks huge and heavy (that little extension makes the camera not well balanced).
I will take a photo of the two together so you can see what I mean.

This is the nice with that lens,it's as small and lightweight as the body cap of the camera.:D
I also have a very tiny 50mm,and the feeling is so strange, when i have it on the camera,it's like there isn't any lens on

(that little extension makes the camera not well balanced).

I have the same problem with the extender and i don't like that

It is funny that a 3 cm extension can change so much the balance of the camera, no? I would worry to use a tripod with that lens now, unless the tripod is very stable and heavy!

I still did not have the opportunity to take photos with the new lenses.

.
I use the tripod with the 70-200+ext. without problem, but i wouldn't go far away from there,it's easy to fall down.

Did you try the Canon 50mm in the house?just for test?

I use the tripod with the 70-200+ext. without problem, but i wouldn't go far away from there,it's easy to fall down.

And since the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 is almost twice heavier than the Canon 70-200 f4, I don't think I would take the risk! :D

Yes, I tried the 50mm in the house but not much light. It is a little like a macro and the funny thing is I keep trying to change the aperture but can't. LOL

Actually I am having a lot of fun with that lens. It is light, its autofocus isn't too bad and I find the quality of the photos very good. For its extremely low price, it's a great lens. It is even convincing me to get more prime lenses :D
I took the photos of the boxer bash Gwyneth uploaded on BW with that lens just to find out how it will do and I was satisfied.

Its autofocus isn't fast but with some anticipation things are fine.

Very nice, clear photos. How close to the seagulls you were?Did you crop the photo?

They were at 2 meters away maybe? I think only the picture where there is one seagull was slightly cropped but almost nothing.
