I have the feeling at full zoom it focuses better than without the converter. With the converter the aperture starts at F4 instead of F2.8.
I am happy with this converter. For about a relatively low (compared to buying a fast zoom lens) cost of 200 euro the 70-200 becomes a 98-280mm which means a 137-420mm on the Nikon D70 (you need to magnify by 1.5). There is certainly a loss of photo quality but it is not obvious.
