As I stated in my re-introduction, I received a new camera, Konica Minolta D'image z3, for Christmas. Im not sure how good this camera is, but It'll do for me to learn on and practice with. Ive been practicing with the zoom because Ive never had a camera with this high of a zoom (12X).. I found it sot of hard to get a good focus on my subject and not the stuff behind it, but Ive uploaded 3 pictures (one of my niece Mackenzie, one of Cinnamon and one of my aunts dog Cleo) that I think are fairly good pictures and Ive zoomed in quite well with them.

Id appreciate if you took a look and tell me how Ive done... and a few tips would help ;)

I think all the 3 photos looked pretty good :)
At http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/z3_pg5.html they say The autofocus system is fast and accurate in brightly light conditions, and was a little better than average in low-light conditions (for a camera without an AF-assist lamp.) However, it will fail if the light level is too low or if your subject lacks the necessary contrast.
Did you take the pictures under these conditions (low light level or subject lacking contrast)?

well, the 2 indoor pictures (my niece and Cleo) were taken with fairly good lighting conditions, the one of Cinnamon was taken with my head sticking out the window lol and its not very bright outside today.

I was playing around with it last night in my room and my walls and bed set are red, so everything had a red glow, unless i put the flash on and that made everything pale.

Taking photos indoor you have to change the white balance of the camera or then you could change it using a software, for example the photoshop or picasa.

I have the Z6 and I'm not sure if it has the same features, but, the Z6 has a few different options for white balance. It has: Auto, Presets for Daylight, Tungsten,Cloudy,Flourescent and Flash, and a custom option which lets you set it to a specific lighting condition.

Ive looked through the instruction manual for the white balance, and it shows how to change it. Well Ive gotten to the menu it shows in the instruction manual, and everything thats on that menu in the instruction manual is on the menu on my camera EXCEPT the white balance :(, so now I dont know what to do.

Go to Camera Modes and Menus, Record 1 at http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/KMZ3/Z3A.HTM
There is an animated picture of the menu and I can see the white balance setting.
