I am looking for a place to host photos. I have my own dedicated server with still a lot of room but I do not want to do the backups, upgrading scripts etc.
I see most people here are using http://photobucket.com for hosting their photos. Their premium membership looks interesting with 1Gb for US$25 a year (http://photobucket.com/upgrade.php). The only problem I have with them is how long will they stay around? I think it is too cheap for a business web site and I have no idea how they can make profit. Their bandwidth fee must be huge.
Currently I am using http://www.pbase.com
So far so good and they have been around for awhile now. It costs US$23 for 300mb. It is possible to customize the pages.
One that interests me is http://www.smugmug.com
They appear good and it is possible to have your own domain name (which I find important as people can always find you. What if pbase disappears? Your address disappears as well...). Has anyone tried them? For the professionals here, they have a nice feature allowing you to sell your photos (http://www.smugmug.com/pro/).

Until last year i had had 10 pages of photos on a site that hosted photos and one day it closed and my address disappeared :(
Now i use the photobuket and i believe the most popular host sites are these you mentioned here

I remember the site you were using as its owner was also using photopost.
I forgot Yahoo. They have a photo hosting service, I do not know if they are good but their presentation does not look great.
I think with Canon or Nikon we do get some space online too.

I don't like Yahoo,i don't know if it's my mistake, but the photos always appear very small, for example this photo it's 720x480 pixels and appears too small

The only ones I have used are Yahoo and Photobucket. I find photobucket much easier to use and you can upload multiple pictures at once. I don't like Yahoo much. Smugmug looks interesting.

I tried Yahoo and yes, it is not pleasant to use it. I don't know how to see a real size photo there, Sophia.
I forgot about this earlier but Yahoo purchased http://www.flickr.com not a long time ago. Maybe Yahoo photo will be improved?
Jan, Smugmug looks fun with all its features!
