Just purchased a new lens today for my portraits. It's a canon 50mm f/1.8 EF mount. I tried it out in the store on a Canon 5D (my dream is to get this camera next) - the few shots I took of my son were great in the store.

I can't wait to use it later this weekend @ the 2 portrait sessions I have scheduled.

Is it the same lens than the one at http://www.megapixelworld.com/board/showthread.php?t=361 which is a Canon 50mm 1.8 II? I am very happy with it. It stays on the 350D most of the time :)
Love the 5D too, but I will wait until there is an anti dust system.

yep, that's the one . . . I'm going to use it for some engagement portraits I'm shooting tomorrow. The other session I was supposed to shoot today had to be rescheduled! BUMMER :(

It seems to have great background blurring!!

I don't normally like the plastic lenses, but hey - I couldn't pass up the price on this one . . . I got it 1/2 off at a local camera store b/c they aren't going to carry anymore of the canon lenses . . . only promaster now.

Thank you very much , i think the sawn was striking a pose , he was looking at the camera for several minutes and he was turning rounds.
