Hello! I'm Selene
Well I don't know much about buying a camera... I think I'm more into taking pictures :-)

I have a Yashica - electro 35 (Does anyone knows if this is a rare antic :-)))))))
I have developed great pictures with it but it's been a while
I'm now using my mini dv (Sony DCR-TRV 50)
Of course I only see my nice pictures in the screen or printed in low resolution as in news papers etc :-)

I’m looking forward to an upgrade!

Also I would like to add that I'm not sure if I'm looking outside or inside...
 (the home page photo I mean...)

Welcome to the board, Selene :)
You uploaded many photos, a lot that are unusual on this new site.
Your Yashica - electro 35 (http://www.yashica-guy.com/document/chrono.html) looks very interesting. To have a digital version of rangefinder cameras like yours there is only the Epson R-D1 for the moment and it is very expensive unfortunately.
There is a review of it at http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/cameras/epson-rd1.shtml
On the homepage, you're outside the building and by looking inside you see outside ;)

Yes Sofia and I know eachother and every day I'm looking forward to read my e-mails from Sofia, talk about our boxers on the phone or meet at the coffee place and make people around us wonder what's so special about boxers that we get so excited and tender about...
Oups! My first post and I see two horrible mistakes in my english (Does anybody knowS!!! etc)
Well Sofia told me not to worry :-) and I suppose the rest don't speak the best Greek :-))))))

Yes Olly, I thought you would find my photos diferent... I mean I looked at the rest and also thought the same! I hope this is not a problem...

Oups! Baby is hungry! Starving I may say... Wow it's hard to turn his eating habits to once a day...
See ya!

PS "On the homepage, you're outside the building and by looking inside you see outside" you mean reflection?
I thought it was a psychological test! :-))))))

Ah! I'm still confused about the comment you wrote about the difference in my pictures... I mean I liked the idea of subscribing to a photographers site as I've studied a bit of it (Visual Communication)
Is there a chance I misunderstood and this site is only to talk about equipment?

Hi Selene,

No, it's about photography in general so it includes equipments and the most important, photos. Yours are welcome, of course :)
As for English, photos are international ;)
I didn't know Sophia managed to meat someone on Boxerworld who also does photography :D
There are many articles about your camera if you do a search on google.com

Thank you very much Colleen! Many greetings to you too FlashyFan :)

Well Olly... boxers overwhelmed us so much that all other issues were less important to discuss... Neither Sofia knew much about my work
Here is the first time she has seen some of it!
:)

By the way Olly, you have done nice work (Boxerworld)

Ok, I should fully introduce myself…
My name is Eleni (Helen in British but please call me Selene!)
And I’m now 30! I look 23 most say :-)))))))))))))))
I was born in NY, USA but grew up in Athens – Greece
My parents are both Greek but they grew up in New York

I’ve studied Graphic Design in Athens University
I did my first Masters in Art (Visual Communication/Mixed Media Video) in Birmingham BIAD UCE /UK
I’ve just finished my second Masters here in Athens (Digital Art)
In Fine Art University of Athens
I do mostly video art and a bit of all the rest
(photography, web design, animation, internet art, music video clip, installation)
I mostly do graphic design as a pay job (11 yrs!) and teach in the afternoon graphic/web design plus most software needed
I’ve participated in exhibitions in Europe and China (just a few) and also did the video art of a theatre performance
Some pictures here are from my projects, for example the tomato pics

I’m a very lazy person and not organized at all
I do just a little of each so I wouldn’t call myself an expert to anything
The last year I’m focused on growing my boxer baby and now I have a second one

Oh yes! Olly when you upload the travel/restaurant site I will surely subscribe as I’m also a big fan! Traveling and going out are my favorite sports and when my baby boxer girl grows up a little I’ll make sure I’ll go back to enjoying myself more…
:-)

Yes, really, what a coincidence and what a small world! I found the thread :)
Roosje: 29,185 members! One of the reasons I enjoy the peace here and at bulldogworld. It is so nice when there is no need to moderate and to deal with BYBs.

Selene: what a busy life for an unorganised person ;)
Talking about Birmingham, I will probably be at the Crufts dog show on Sunday 13th March. It will be for the second time. Any good places for eating quickly that you would recommend (kebabs included. LOL) there?
As for the travel board, it will take some time as I want to finish the two dog sites first, and I am slow. Roosje can tell about it :D

I didn't forget you Olly
I don't know if you're still going to Birmingham
but I'm sure there have been major changes at least in food places since 1999! I didn't really like to eat kebab there, it's totally diferent from here, I can't imagine what they put in that meat roll
I used to go to a chinese fast food, I just love duck! But forgive me! I just can't remember the names and tell you how to get there...
The only nice restaurant I remember was the japanese at the arcadian center which I don't think is for fast eating, also quite expencive... oh and of course pizza express by The Waters Edge in Brindleyplace. Now that I think about it... many other places... there was also a french restaurant on the way from the city center to UCE near the highway... (wow there are plenty! http://www.sugarvine.com/Birmingham/search/cuisine_search.asp?cuisine_type=French) oups! it's all coming back to me now... subway sandwiches in the city centre and of course eating in a pub! the gratest I think was The Old Royal on Church Street

It's cold here... I suppose it will be really cold there... get your warm close and have the greatest time! :)

Hi Selene
Thanks for the link but I do not think I am going to eat French in the UK when I am back to France monthly :D
I am not sure yet if I am going to Birmingham... I am not sure if I have a cold or not. I like ducks too, especially the Chinese duck you eat with pancakes. I will find the name later. You can buy them already made and frozen at iceland.com
