At http://www.intel.com/products/processor/index.htm you will find some information about all the processors you are looking for :)

It is hard to answer to your question because you are mixing processors for latops with processors for desktops. What is better for a laptop is a compromise between long battery life and power while what is better for a desktop might just be having the most power.
From your list, I believe the Pentium D is the newest for desktops and the Pentium M the newest for laptops.
As you can see on the page above, there are newer processors. It is hard to keep updated with them, they improve all the time LOL

Are you going to buy a laptop or a desktop?
I am using a Pentium M 745 (http://www.intel.com/products/processor/pentiumm/index.htm) on my IBM laptop and with 512Mb ram it works fine even with softwares like DXO but its screen is not the best for viewing photos. For work, it is fine and it was bought for that purporse :D
On my desktop it is a Pentium 4 2.80GHz (http://www.intel.com/products/processor/pentium4/index.htm) with 1.50GB ram. It works well for my need. For a photoshop user like you, you might need more ram.

AMD processors are good too now :)

I also still use an old Celeron 1800 (4 years old now?) but with 768MB of ram it works great.
You do not need to get the fastest processor as you pay a lot for it. Get more ram instead, they are cheap now and they really help! Any modern computer, even entry level, with 1GB of ram will be good :)

I usually buy memory at http://www.crucial.com/eu/ but I believe you can find better at your place. That site is good when you want to be sure about the right memory when buying memory for laptops. They have a good adviser tool that identifies your computer, its motherboard and how many slots of ram you can add :)
