According to Shutter Count, my D70 took 41047 photos. I believe the D70 is given for 50000 photos with no problem so I am slowly going to its end as it costs a lot to repair the shutter.
I read that on a Canon 10D that took 54000 photos it cost 255 euros to replace it. The spare part itself wasn't that expensive (60 euro) but it took 4,5 hours to do it.

Sophia, don't worry, on the 20D it should go fine up to 100000 photos :)
On the 350D, I think it was 50000 like on the D70.

If i remember well,i had took 12000 photos with the D60,before Dafni got the camera and i had not any problem.

Yes, 100000 is fine! The 20/30D costs maybe 500/600 euro more but if you look at long term, it is a good value as it can take twice more photos and is better build (plus faster autofocus, better viewfinder etc).
Now who takes that many photos?? :D
