Hello All,

Like most people here, I found my way to this site from BW. I like to take photos, but never taken a photography class. I simply can't find the time to take a formal photography class.

Right now I am looking for a new camera. I don't like carrying big bulky cameras (like photographers carry), but, I would like to find point & shoot camera that takes excellent photos. I like to see sharp, crisp & clear photos that also captures the depth of the subject. Is there such a thing? If so, please steer me in the right direction.

I mainly take photos of my Boxer (named Tré) as well as cars & trucks. My DH's hobby is modifying/restoring trucks. So, we go to plenty of car and/or truck shows. I get bored and start taking photos at the shows.

I can't wait to start reading the threads that this site has to offer!!

Hi Olly!

I currrently own: an Olympus C-7000 zoom =http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/olympusc7000/page2.asp

I paid over $600 about two years ago. Now, I think I paid too much for it. It is falling apart. I dropped it a few times (which didn't help).

Before that, I had a Sony DSC-T1. The camera was nice. But I wasn't happy with it. I ended up giving the camera to my parents.

Before my Sony, I owned a Cannon PowerShot Elph (I forgot which model). That was one of the best cameras that I owned. I loved that camera so much that I gave it to my son. (Instead of trying to resell it.) The battery cover no longer closes. We have to use clear tape to keep it in place. ;)

For my next camera, I would like to purchase another Cannon. Unless there is something else you highly recommend??
