View Full Version : Lets start this again it was fun!
Colleen 02-05-2007, 08:54 PM Its been so quiet here, lets start theme of the week up again. Maybe everyone could submit a couple of themes and we could work from there?
We could even do some old ones over.
Bridges
Birds
Old people
Babies
funny trees
Douma 02-05-2007, 09:32 PM Nice idea Colleen!
Checkers 02-07-2007, 07:44 AM Bridges? This game was cool :D
Shutterbug 02-07-2007, 11:23 AM So, is it going to be bridges then?
Douma 02-07-2007, 11:50 AM The theme of the week is "bridges" :)
Colleen 02-07-2007, 01:34 PM Alright bridges it is! Going to be a challenge here in the winter but hey!:D
Colleen 02-09-2007, 02:34 AM Here is my bridge picture.

These are very old bridges here,it was cold out so I had to take the pictures from the car.
Very nice photos of bridges Colleen. There aren't any nice bridges here. They are all really boring looking. :( I will have to have a look in my photo collection and see what I can find.
Douma 02-09-2007, 05:43 PM They look nice in the white snow!:) this is mine..

The photo of the bridge taken in my village (kerasia) and the duck is from another photo and the water is fake created in photoshop :)
Colleen 02-09-2007, 08:19 PM Now that is a nice bridge!
Shutterbug 02-10-2007, 02:37 AM Since I am too sick to go anywhere and take pictures, I was digging through my digital pics on the computer. This is the only bridge I could find:
http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/bridge.jpg
At least it's not an ordinary bridge.:)
Colleen 02-10-2007, 03:04 PM Gary, great shot, hope your feeling better soon and that its only a cold.
All our bridge pictures have been different so far, its great!
Shutterbug 02-10-2007, 10:40 PM Gary, great shot, hope your feeling better soon and that its only a cold.
Sore throat, slight temp, stuffed nose, nothing real bad. Lately it barely gets above 0 (F) here, don't know what that is in celsius, all I know is it's COLD and I'm not going to get better unless I stay out of it.
I looked at my bridge picture again and realised that I didn't take it, I'm IN it! Does that still count?
Colleen 02-11-2007, 01:26 AM okay Garywhich head is yours?
Douma 02-11-2007, 05:50 AM Does that still count?
Yes,why not?but if you want you can place a new one :)
Shutterbug 02-11-2007, 05:51 AM okay Garywhich head is yours?
Actually, I know 3 people in the picture. I am assuming it was my wife who actually took the pic. From the camera forward is: My oldest son Kaelan, his cousin Lee, and me. It was taken at a place near Hudson, Wisconsin where a group of railroad enthusiasts have built a miniature railroad. Once a month,(in the summer) they open it up to the public and give rides.
Colleen 02-11-2007, 03:28 PM I think the bridge is great! no one says it has to be just one bridge, I agree with Sophia you can always take another one. Love the name Kaelan.
x19er 02-12-2007, 04:49 PM It's been dreich and a bit snell (wet and cold for non Scots :)) here so no photo opportunites.
Colleen - it looks very cold where you are! Like the shape of the bridges - nothing like that round here.
Sophia - very magical looking - makes me long for summer.
Gary - nice wee train - hope your feeling better soon.

I can do that. We have a boxer meetup this Saturday, after that we can drive across the Golden Gate Bridge and take the long way home.
Of course my photos won't be as nice as Jan's.

It will be great to see rrrmarie's photos of the bridge. I am sure that she will have a different view point. I am looking forward to seeing them. :)

My son, Tre & I were exhausted after the boxer meetup, I didn't feel like driving across the bridge (if we did, the ride home would have been an hour longer). It took us an hour from the meetup to the bridge due to traffic. After we took the photos, we went Pier 39 and had dinner (yummy).
Colleen 02-18-2007, 06:39 PM Those are nice pictures of the bridge, the clouds and water, looks so nice, thanks for stopping and taking them for us to see.:D

Shutterbug 02-18-2007, 07:24 PM Those are great pictures! Thanks for taking the time to take them! I'm not sure, but I think the bridge looks even better with a boxer in front of it. :D
Checkers 02-18-2007, 09:34 PM Great bridge shots everyone :D I haven't got the internet right now, but ill post a bridge photo when I do (should be tomorrow).
Shutterbug 03-02-2007, 09:31 PM So is that it? Are we going to do another one? Anybody???
Colleen 03-02-2007, 11:31 PM Hey Gary you choose something!
Shutterbug 03-02-2007, 11:43 PM How about mailboxes?
Colleen 03-03-2007, 12:13 AM Sounds like a plan! maybe the others will tune in and see too, I know Sophia will check in for sure.
Douma 03-03-2007, 04:34 AM How about mailboxes?
It was the "theme of week"months ago,but we can do it again. We have not pettily decorated mailboxes in my neighbourhoud, but i will try to find one :p
So the theme of the next week is "Mailboxes"
:)
x19er 03-03-2007, 09:32 AM Emmmm sorry if this sounds stupid ;) But do you mean a mailbox as in something you get your incoming mail out of or a mailbox that you put your outgoing mail in to be collected?
It's just that over here we don't call them mailboxes! We have letterboxes (a slot in your front door) for your incoming mail and a postbox that you put your outgoing mail in to be collected.
Signed confused of Scotland

I thought that these boxes in the front door called mailboxes!we have not boxes for the outgoing mails in our front door in Greece.
x19er 03-03-2007, 12:15 PM We have not boxes for the outgoing mails in our front door in Greece.
Sorry about the confusion - we don't either - I meant these:
www.anidea.co.uk/lower-edmonton/general/pillarboxes.html
Although we don't called them pillar boxes - usually we call them post boxes! Like we have the postman (who delivers the post) although we call them the "postie" :)
So we are taking photos of mailboxes at your house that the mail is delivered into?
Colleen 03-03-2007, 01:45 PM Jan the ones in the pictures are perfect!!! My gosh I think I took a picture of one when I was in Scotland that ws similar. Britain has fabulous mail boxes.
Shutterbug 03-03-2007, 02:24 PM Emmmm sorry if this sounds stupid ;) But do you mean a mailbox as in something you get your incoming mail out of or a mailbox that you put your outgoing mail in to be collected?
Actually, where I live we use the same box for both purposes! We also have the large collection boxes for out-going mail, but the only one in the town where I live is in front of the post office. Why not just have it be a picture of whatever you get mail in or put mail in where you live? It will be interesting to see the different types from all over the world!

Yes!this is a good idea!it would be very interesting to see the different types of mailboxes :)
