View Full Version : Theme of the week:cars Douma 03-21-2007, 06:11 PM The theme of the week:cars :) Checkers 03-22-2007, 06:10 AM Seeing as ive been pretty absent lately, ill start it off! Here is my car, its my first car and ive had it for a just over 5 years. Its still going after a few bumps and bruises but I love it and it gets the job done :D http://www.photoboard.eu/photography/showphoto.php?photo=2399&limit=recent And not quite a car, but close enough. Some military trucks at an airforce open day. http://www.photoboard.eu/photography/showphoto.php?photo=2398&limit=recent x19er 03-22-2007, 02:43 PM Nice pic Laura - your car is much cleaner than ours just now! The scenery in the background looks very like here :) Shutterbug 03-22-2007, 08:26 PM Nice car Laura! Can you tell a little more about it? I'm curious about vehicles in different countries. Who makes it? Engine size? Transmission type? Checkers 03-22-2007, 10:29 PM Lol its not that clean right now! Its a 1994 Daihatsu Charade DeTomaso. 1.6 manual non turbo. Its the sportier version of a regular Charade like this http://www.autoweek.nl/images/480/2/d56d974584936a8466601f587a846f42.jpg It has different outer panels like bonnet, boot, kit on the front back and sides and has different interior. Not my photo, but it looks like this inside http://foto.auto.vl.ru/album_photos/6/5410/42006.jpg (but mine isnt automatic). Its an awesome car, goes really well and can go pretty fast when it needs to. There aren't too many around, I think they are pretty rare. Only come in black and red :) Shutterbug 03-23-2007, 03:19 AM Thanks Laura! I'm not familiar with the manufacturer, where is it made? x19er 03-23-2007, 07:21 AM :D Cool Laura Your driving round in a car tweaked in conjunction with the famous designer DeTomaso based in Modena, Italy. http://www.detomaso.it/gb/storia/storia.html x19er 03-23-2007, 05:20 PM Italian Cars! This is the car I use everyday - Fiat Punto HGT (1.8ltr manual) Lots of Puntos around but not many HGT's - small car plus big engine = lots of fun :) http://s173.photobucket.com/albums/w52/x19er/cars/?action=view¤t=HGT.jpg Alfa Romeo 156 (2.0ltr manual) - see if you can spot the boxer dog! http://s173.photobucket.com/albums/w52/x19er/cars/?action=view¤t=Alfa.jpg Fiat X1/9 (1.5ltr manual) - fab car love it to bits - not many around now. http://s173.photobucket.com/albums/w52/x19er/cars/?action=view¤t=Exxy.jpg 2 x Dinos Dino 308GT4 (3ltr V8) http://s173.photobucket.com/albums/w52/x19er/cars/?action=view¤t=Dino.jpg Dino (4 paw drive, very fast acceleration, not so good at cornering) :) http://s173.photobucket.com/albums/w52/x19er/cars/?action=view¤t=Aboy.jpg Shutterbug 03-23-2007, 08:37 PM Great pics Jan! I also liked the link to DeTomaso. I can remember seeing the X19s over here. Those and the Triumph TR7 were popular here for a while. Shutterbug 04-07-2007, 02:09 AM Well, better late than never, right? I'll start out with my daily driver, better known as my Little Red Wagon. It's a '93 Ford Escort wagon. I bought it used a few years ago. It has a lot of miles on it, a few dings here and there and it's starting to get a little rust, but it gets me back and forth to work and gets me, J.C. and all our gear to the dog shows and it does it economically. http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/lil%20red%20wagon.jpg J.C. seem to like it. http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/JC.jpg Then there are those cars that I wish I had! Being from the U.S., I am fond of the "hot rods" : What I belive is a '33 ford: http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/33%20ford.jpg A '32 ford "deuce coupe" : http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/deuce%20coupe.jpg A close-up of the gear shit lever: http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/shifter.jpg A model "A" ford : http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/model%20A.jpg Shutterbug 04-07-2007, 02:31 AM I also like the "muscle cars" of the late 1960s and early 1970s. A 1967 Ford Mustang: http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/67%20mustang.jpg A Ford Cobra: http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/cobra.jpg A 1971 Ford Boss 351 Mustang: http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/71%20mustang.jpg A very rare car. Only made 1 year and only a little over 1,000 made. Very few left now. And the Corvette that I would really like to have: http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/vette.jpg Then there are a few 1950s "oldies but goodies" A 1955 Ford truck: http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/55%20ford%20truck.jpg I've always wanted one of those! A 1956 Ford Thunderbird: http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/56%20t-bird.jpg Then for the antique lovers: Ford (don't know the year): http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/ford.jpg Buick : http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/buick.jpg And an Oldsmobile: http://webpages.charter.net/pugsterk9/olds.jpg Are we sick of looking at cars yet? :D x19er 04-07-2007, 07:18 AM Are we sick of looking at cars yet? :D Don't think we are - everybody else might be though :) Love J.C.! I really like the 1967 Ford Mustang and the 1955 Ford Truck - cool white wall tyres too. I hope you get the Corvette you want one day :) If money was no object the Lamborghini Miura is the one for me - I think it really is beautiful: www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=52&i=10585 Fingers crossed for a lottery win ;) Shutterbug 04-07-2007, 02:08 PM Don't think we are - everybody else might be though :) Love J.C.! I love muscle cars, we have cruise night here every Wednesday and I love it, we had a 67 Firebird, I cried when we sold it. My dream is a 69 Goat rag top. My brother in law has a 1927 Model 70, Chrysler. He bought from an old farmer and has restored it all. I love muscle cars. x19er 04-09-2007, 11:28 AM Ooops!
