Hi everyone! My name is Mandy and I'm 're-introducing' myself. I had an account a while back, but I it got terminated due to inactivity. I just couldn't find much spare time to participate here with everything else that was going on, but things have gotten a lot better for me so here I am!

The last time I posted here I was using a Canon Digital Rebel 300D. It was a great camera, but one weekend it started to give me some trouble and as luck would have it the camera shop was having a huge sale so that same weekend so I upgraded to a Canon 400D. It most likely would've been cheaper to just repair the 300D, but it was 3.5 years old so it was time to upgrade anyway. ;)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to becoming a part of this community (again) and of course sharing photos with all of you. :)

Mandy I was looking at your photos on your website (just noticed the photo im looking at is your avatar.. creepy :P) and saw you have the 75-300 lens. I was thinking of getting the 70-300. Do you like it? What are its good/bad points you've noticed?

Im having such a hard time trying to figure out what lens to get!

Hi Checkers - I have been using the 75-300 IS lens since 2004, but the IS seems to lock it up for some reason. :rolleyes: So, I've been using with the IS shut off. Other than that issue, it's a pretty decent lens. I've been satisfied with it.

With the purchase of my new camera (Canon 400D) I have the 75-300 lens (without the IS) and it seems to be performing quite well also. I can't wait to try it out on the ocean!! Only a month to go!! :D
