It is cloudy for the moment. I hope 300mm is enough for taking photos of birds etc. I hesitated between this and the Tamron 200-500 and the Canon 400 f5.6. I chose the 300 because of its image stabiliser. I believe with the others you need a tripod unless the light is good.
