Hi my name is Scott. I live in Greenwich, south east London.

I was recommended this board by my partner, who is a keen Boxerworld user. We have two Boxers dogs, Harry and Ruby.

Anyway, I am a keen photographer. I have recently upgraded my camera. I used to have a Canon EOS D30. I great camera, but a little long in the tooth now. I recently changed to a 400D. With a little help from Ebay, I was able to change some of my old kit.

I was itching to get hold of a full frame body so I ebayed the 400D and bought a 5D to replace it.

Now I have a Canon EOS 5D, EF 25-105mm f/4, 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6, Sigma 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye, Kenko extension tubes and various filters.

I will upload some of my more recently shots in due course. In the meantime, you can look at some of my work on Deviant Art - http://scottpriddy.deviantart.com

I would greatly appreciated any c&c on my shots.

Hi Douma, thanks for the welcome. I use an IR filter on the lens. I use a Cokin P series filter on my 5D. Unfortunately, due to the full frame coverage I can't use it at 24mm or less otherwise the filter holder starts to appear in the shot.

I read a very good journal by Gilad on Deviant Art about Digital IR photography. It helped a lot in getting it to look right. I am still learning my way around Photoshop to colourise some of my shots. Here's the link to the journal. Gilad has some stunning shots in his portfolio.

Apparently, Canon cameras aren't as good as Nikons at IR. Canons have a filter in front of the CCD that does filter some IR out. To get round this you have to increase the exposure time, I have found that 15 - 30 seconds works well. However, it can limit some of the shots. In some of Gilad's shots he has got away with a 1 - 4 second exposure which keeps blur so a minimum.
