It is this weekend in London :) I am going there on Saturday.
I will be on the Peruvian Wharf Grand Stand.

It should be sunny:

I've caught this on the TV a couple of times - should be fun to photograph!
It was fun to photograph! I will post photos as soon as possible. The computer has been treating them by batch (I use DXO software) since yesterday night. It should be finished by tomorrow.
I have like 6,000 photos because of the continuous mode but it was worth doing it because I have a photo of a plane doing a mistake and hitting one of the "gate".
Not much people there but that was expected because their ticket was too high priced. At £43.5 (US$87) the seat who can go afford to go there with their kids?
The pilots were very impressive :)
Some photos :)

These are great - very colourful too! The pilots must be mad :)
One of the BBC sports correspondence went up in one of the planes and said at 4G he felt like his eyes were about to pop out his head - I'm sure they said the pilots hit 11G when they are doing some of the manoeuvres - the BBC bloke threw up too :D

Those are some great photos! I always wondered how many photos you take in order to get some of the great shots I see posted on here. Now I know. :D
Usually I do not take that many but with an air show/race I take at 5 images/second. It is easy to get too many photos :D
I had to use a portable drive to download photos in order to get emptied compact flash cards.
The good thing was almost all photos were sharp and in focus, less than 10 were out of focus. With the D70/Sigma 70-200f2.8 I had a rate of only 20% of good pictures in action photos.
The bad thing is all the deletion of uninteresting/too similar photos and that's time consuming.
As for the pilots, yes they get over 10G when they take their corner etc. I remember the guys saying it was like weighing 1 ton. LOL Amazing, isn't it?
The whole race is madness! They had to close the Thames during the show, same with London city airport.

Nice images. Thanks for sharing Olly! It's very impressive to see these manoeuvres
Those were great photos. I guess you should get a few good ones if you take 6000. LOL :) I really think those pilots must be a little insane.

No, I have 5990 good ones. LOL
The D200's autofocus is hard to beat in that kind of conditions.
Last night I had troubles taking a photo of a heron. It was starting to get dark and the heron was a little in the sun light. 50% of good photos only.
I will post a photo of it.
