I got yesterday a new monitor because the previous one (Dell) had some trouble displaying the right colours (like all the top right border was red...).
It is a Samsung SyncMaster 205BW and I love it :D
It has a resolution of 1680x1050 so I do not have to enlarge photos as often as I used to do before which is nice.
It was well rated in an article in Chasseur d'images where they were explaining you first need to have a decent monitor able to display all colours and contrast before calibrating it.

Very nice :) We got a Belinea monitor a few months ago - what a difference a decent monitor makes. When you get something new that works well, you wonder why you struggled on with the old one for so long :D

Indeed! And I did the same mistake previously because I was still using my old 14in monitor (640x480 resolution) when everyone had a 15 or a 17in monitors.

Good for you! I have a Samsung syncMaster 192N and the colors are great. I only realize it when I go to my friends and his monitor is so old and the colors are really crappy. Its good he dones't take too many pictures.

Keep in mind a monitor should not just display great colours but true colours because a flashy photo on your screen might not be that great on a correct monitor. Usually you can see the difference when you print your photos.
