Yesterday i got the lens and i couldn't be more pleased with it,sharp, contrast and well built
I was concerned about not having IS and i was afraid that i would need a tripod, but it's lightweight, small and very comfortable to handhold.
Here is one of the photos that i took today, unfortunately it was a cloudy day and i didn't think to use the flash :o but even so the photo turn out well

I am glad you are pleased with your lens :) I like mine too, I am just waiting for a real sunny day (Saturday, according to the weather forecast). It's pretty cloudy here too.
I think the stabilizer isn't needed because the lens is fast. I am often over 1/1000 even at 200ISO which is the minimum on the D70.

I'm so glad that i don't need a tripod,i had not took the lens on my hand before order it and i didn't know how big it was. :)
The worst here is the humidity,it's like fog,20 degrees, cloudy and humidity
Can't wait to see more photos with your new lens, the duck looks great!

As you mentioned that lens on the other thread, I will ask more questions here for not hijacking the thread.
Can you please tell me how fast is the autofocus?

Douma

The AF is very fast and doesn't hunt in low light situations. To compare,it's faster than the Canon macro 100mm.

I see there is a new one, apparently the same with image stabiliser:
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0608/06082414canon70-200f4lens.asp

It looks nice but also a lot more expensive than the normal 70-200 f4 though so I think I will still get the "normal" one to complete the 17-70 I got this week.
Then we can compare the 350D to the 20D :D

It looks great, but it's double priced and i don't think that the IS is so useful to pay double for it.
I can't wait to compare your Sigma 70-200 and the canon 70-200,i have never heard the opinion from someone who has both lenses :)

They both have been tested by the same person at
http://www.photozone.de/8Reviews/lenses/canon_70200_4/index.htm
http://www.photozone.de/8Reviews/lenses/sigma_70200_28/index.htm
I am mostly looking for its light weight when carrying it in the plane.

Well, I am back :)
As for the lens, I like it very much :D It is light, autofocus is fast and we can take photos from a short distance (still one metre something but it is much shorter than with the Sigma 70-200 f2.8). It is well built but it feels less solid than the Sigma (the plastic and probably because it is much lighter too).

One photo taken with it:

:) I used it first time taking indoor pics... very convenient as I always have to shoot portraits from a distance... well I know I may seem dum but I was surprised to find out that only three people fit in the frame from the 9m distance I had to shoot. And I needed to shoot 5 people (sitting side by side with distances in between)
So now i'm looking for a wide angle one (maybe the ef-s 10-22 but I;ll post a new thread for this)
